The Mediterranean is one of the most vulnerable regions to climate change, with rising temperatures and extreme events such as droughts and floods. These events threaten not only the ecosystem and biodiversity, but also food and energy security.
CO2 PACMAN is committed to making territories climate neutral and promoting sustainable and resilient communities. We provide the knowledge and tools needed to implement integrated strategies and effective climate change policies.

Our Methodology
The CO2 PACMAN Toolkit
A practical methodology supporting Mediterranean islands in developing locally grounded pathways towards climate neutrality. The Toolkit combines GHG assessment, stakeholder engagement, participatory activities, open innovation and scenario development, guiding territories from understanding their emissions to defining Climate Neutrality Transition Roadmaps.

Living Labs
From local knowledge to shared transition visions
Participatory Labs on Brač, Crete and Elba brought together local stakeholders to explore territorial challenges and opportunities, share knowledge and co-create priorities for the transition towards climate neutrality.

Engagement
From participation to cooperation
Citizens, young people, local SMEs, start-ups, companies and institutions contributed their perspectives, ideas and expertise through surveys, Youth Think Tanks and Open Innovation activities, building connections between local needs, innovation and climate action.

CO2 PACMAN combined data, scenario modelling, landscape analysis and immersive visualisation to explore different transition options and understand how they could work within the specific territorial context of each island.
