CO2 PACMAN
COoperation and CO-designing PArtnership for CliMAte Neutrality
The Mediterranean is one of the most vulnerable regions to climate change, with rising temperatures and extreme events such as droughts and floods. These events threaten not only the ecosystem and biodiversity, but also food and energy security.
CO2 PACMAN is committed to making territories climate neutral and promoting sustainable and resilient communities. We provide the knowledge and tools needed to implement integrated strategies and effective climate change policies.
OUR STEPS & RESULTS
METHODOLOGY STARTING PHASE
CO2 PACMAN developed a common analytical and participatory framework for the pilot islands, combining local data collection, carbon footprint analysis, stakeholder mapping and preparation of participatory processes.
ROOTING LABS
Three-day co-working workshops in the pilot islands, bringing together project partners and local stakeholders to collect data, exchange knowledge and identify solutions for the climate transition.
CITIZEN ENGAGEMENT
Participatory activities enabling citizens and local communities to express priorities, contribute ideas and co-design pathways towards a low-carbon future.
YOUTH THINK TANK
A creative initiative engaging students and young people in imagining a net-zero carbon future for Mediterranean islands.
OPEN INNOVATION
A collaborative action connecting local island challenges with SMEs, startups, researchers and solution providers in renewable energy, energy efficiency and ecosystem-based approaches.
LANDSCAPE & VIRTUAL REALITY
Immersive 3D and virtual reality experiences helping citizens, public authorities and stakeholders visualise future island scenarios and possible climate-neutral interventions.
“THE ISLAND I WOULD LIKE” LABS
Second-round participatory labs dedicated to presenting project results and co-designing Climate Neutrality Transition Roadmaps for the pilot islands.
TOOLKIT FOR CLIMATE NEUTRALITY SCENARIOS
A practical guide supporting islands in developing climate neutrality scenarios through greenhouse gas data, local knowledge, participatory activities and scenario assessment.
CO2 PACMAN PLATFORM
A digital platform presenting the project pathway, tools, phases, activities and outputs supporting the transition to climate neutrality.
INTERACTIVE STAKEHOLDERS MAP
