Youth Think Tank in Portoferraio explores the key ingredients for effective decarbonisation.
On November 12, 2025, a CO2 PACMAN Youth Think Tank was held in Portoferraio, Elba Island, engaging high school students of the “Raffaello Foresi” Institute in a hands-on laboratory with researchers from the University of Siena and the University of Florence. Through interactive sessions and CO2 PACMAN tool simulations, students explored how landscapes, local communities, and natural resource management contribute to successful decarbonisation pathways.
The workshop fostered dialogue, collaboration, and experiential learning, empowering students to actively reflect on the “ingredients” needed for an effective decarbonisation process. The event reinforced the central role of youth participation in shaping locally adapted and inclusive climate-neutral strategies.
